BACKBEND MASTERCLASS  

Description:

Back-bending is a wonderful way to counter the hours we spend huddled over the computer, behind the wheel and staring at our phones.
In yoga, the body will often take the path of least resistance and in backbends this can mean unhealthy compression in the lumbar and cervical spine. Good technique in the neck, wrists, and shoulders are the gateway to long-term safety and freedom in backbends.

Join Carly to go Beyond the Basics as we unpack these important components of deeper, safer backbends. You’ll leave with the knowledge to bring greater strength, space and fluidity to your backbends, so you can experience the joy of these transformational poses in your practice.

HIP OPENING MASTERCLASS  

Description:

Hip openers are deeply nourishing and releasing postures, which can at times feel raw and vulnerable. We store deep emotion in our hips, without necessarily being aware of an emotional build up over time. Coupled with the effects of an increasingly sedentary lifestyle, our hips can be left feeling tight and tender.

Join Carly to go Beyond the Basics as we focus on postural alignment, pelvic stability and release of the hips and lower back in order to practice hip openers safely and with integrity. This workshop will not only transform the hip openers in your everyday yoga practice, but also standing poses, twists and balancing will become more accessible too!

DEEP TWISTS MASTERCLASS  

Description:

With the twists and turns of life, sometimes we get disconnected from the understanding that the body is designed to move, and the spine more specifically is designed to move in variety of different planes to encourage longevity and overall spinal health – something of which becomes particularly important as we begin to age. Use the power of twists to nourish the body, stimulate the organs, aide digestion and clear out energetic stagnations.

Go Beyond the Basics, delving into the important principles of technique, alignment and structural integrity required to allow you to perform deep twists safely and effectively. You’ll leave this masterclass with the skills and knowledge of how to develop core strength, bring stability to your poses and the confidence to move more deeply into your twists.

INVERSIONS MASTERCLASS

Description:

Yoga invites us to play at our edge and many yogis say that their biggest challenge in their yoga practice is inverting. Turning upside down is an opportunity to release fear, rock the body and sharpen the mind. Being upside down changes your view on the world both literally and metaphorically. It can teach you about changing habits and embracing the unfamiliar.  There is a safe, sequential and fun way to learn how to practice inversions skillfully.

Join Carly as we go beyond the basics and unpack the key elements to safely practicing poses like handstand, forearm balance, headstand and shoulder stand. Suitable for students of all levels who want to go deeper with these magical poses and experience the joy of being upside down!
