Gina is the our Pilates basics teacher. Here she shares with us her story.

 

I think I have always been instinctively aware of the importance of exercise, as a child if I was feeling worried or anxious I would go for a run. I played many sports and enjoyed them all.
As an adult, even when my children were small I made time for exercise. When they had grown I returned to study and gained a Diploma of Fitness. After which I managed the Southbank Institute of Technology, Health and Fitness Centre. However, the highlight of my day was always my group fitness sessions.

I believe there is a sense of sharing, energy and camaraderie when exercising in a group setting. So I decided to focus on being a group fitness instructor and spread the word about the benefits of bodyweight exercise combined with breath and form, to not only strengthen the body but calm the mind.
I feel so blessed every time I stand in front if a class to be able to enhance the life of others through exercise.
